Legacy 2000 Student Mentors

The Legacy 2000 Student Mentors are upperclassmen who maintain academic excellence. The Mentors are Presidential and Bunche Scholars and recipients of several scholarships. They are knowledgeable and experienced individuals capable of navigating through the university. The Mentors are thoroughly familiar with campus resources and activities.

The Student Mentors are actively involved within the university and student organizations. Many are leaders within many on-campus cultural and cross-cultural student organizations, as well as, serving on the Student Judicial Hearing Board, Student Government Association and Orientation Leaders.

The Legacy 2000 Student Mentors are dedicated students who concern themselves with academics, the university, and the community at large.

Legacy 2000 Faculty Mentors

The role of the faculty mentor is to guide the mentee during the mentorship period, provide sound advice concerning academics and campus resources. The faculty mentor may provide direct research experience, and may work with students to identify their strengths and weaknesses in their field.

Faculty mentors might offer advice, share experiences, or merely serve as a sounding board for students' thoughts on topics, such as future career options. More importantly, faculty mentors serve as a guide to challenges that their Legacy 2000 student mentor and first year student mentees may face before and or upon graduation.

Faculty mentors, in addition to the aforementioned, provide a major source of outside contacts and worldly experience.
